AGS 3rd Place at Goodwood Sprint: Westfield SEi Running Vauxhall Redtop & English Differential
Aqua Garage Services at Goodwood Circuit
Aqua Garage Services support a number of local racers within various disciplines. You’ve seen our drift car work, such as rollcage fabrication, panel fabrication, 4 wheel alignment and engine turning services, In Focus today is Neal and Graham Masters with their Westfield SEi sprint car, running a New Techniques Vauxhall Red Top Engine. This car runs quite an old differential setup, based on the English differential found in many classic fords. This particular English differential has been modified with a limited-slip component to assist drive through the corners. Neal and Graham run the car at long and short courses, meaning they need to change the differential ratio depending on the circuit. For Goodwood,
Vauxhall Red Top & English Lmited-Slip Differential
Aqua Garage Services supplied and assisted with a new 3.9 setup, to compliment their short course 4.7 ratio setup. Neal ran the car and although coming up against a number of set backs, including serious tyre degradation and venue noise issues – meaning Neal had to come completely off the throttle through 3 noise meter stations around Goodwood circuit, he still managed a 3rd in place. Well done to Neal, his dad Graham – New Techniques for the building the engine and of course, to Aqua Garage Services – ourselves for supporting the car through various technical challenges throughout the year. Neal has 2 events to go, Rushmoor Arena on the 2nd October near Aldershot, and on the 9th October at Curborough Figure of 8 sprint course near Lichfield in the Midlands. Let’s hope for some more good results!
